I am using the event calendar pro plugin from tribe events on my client’s wordpress site. It is an awesome way to display events on your wordpress site and they allow for very specific customizations. Their support team is great and there is a huge online community available to help when things get buggy.
That being said, I was not so pleased with their google maps configuration. It is very annoying to land on a page and scroll down but then get caught up in the map’s zooming in and out. This is a really simple fix (I am wondering why they don’t just include the code in the default version of the plugin). To set the map to stay static as your users scroll down your page, simply find the file where Google Maps API is being called and set the scrollwheel to false.
Plugin file located: the-events-calendar/admin-views/event-map.php
The file should have a section that looks like this:
To make sure you don’t set off the map scrolling add in the following line and save your file.
